Modified Soccer Program (U8, U9, U10, and U11)

The "Mod" program is for 8-11 year old's and provides a progressive development path leading up to full field 11-a-side play. Using smaller fields, smaller team sizes, and modified rules, the "Mod" program gives players more opportunities with the ball and involvement in the game, which enhances their skill development. The progression in players on the field is:

U08 - 4-a-side (4 field players +goalkeeper)
U09 - 7-a-side (6 field players + goalkeeper)
U10 - 7-a-side (6 field players + goalkeeper)
U11 - 9-a-side (8 field players + goalkeeper)

U12 - 9-a-side (8 field players + goalkeeper)

U8 to U12 teams are not coed. However, girls are allowed to play on boys teams. There are three seasons for U8 through U12 soccer to include Fall, Spring, and Summer.

Coaching

All teams in Prairie Soccer Club are coached by volunteer coaches who are usually parents of one of the players. PSC can only field as many teams as it has coaches to coach them. Our umbrella association, Thurston County Youth Soccer Association (TCYSA) provides training opportunities for all its coaches. If you would like to coach or assist with your child's team, please register as a coach through this website. You do not need to be a skilled soccer player or have intimate knowledge of the game to get started. Enthusiasm and the desire to provide guidance to our young soccer players is all that is necessary.
